Description

This Special Issue is dedicated to the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) 2026, one of the premier academic conferences in the field of Information Systems (IS) in the Pacific Asia region. PACIS is an official conference affiliated with the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and has long served as a leading platform for disseminating high-quality IS research and fostering scholarly exchange among academics and practitioners in the Pacific Asia region.

PACIS 2026 will be held in the vibrant and multicultural metropolis of Jakarta, Indonesia, between July 4th-8th, 2026. The conference theme of PACIS 2026 is "Leapfrogging the Future with Artificial Intelligence," which underscores the transformative role of AI in enabling societies and organizations to transcend traditional developmental constraints. The conference seeks to foster dynamic discussions and collaborations that explore how AI-driven innovations can be leveraged to address complex societal, organizational, and technological challenges, while advancing a brighter, more inclusive future.

In addition to contributions aligned with the conference theme, PACIS 2026 also welcomes original, high-quality research spanning a broad range of topics across the IS discipline.

Papers invited for submission to this Special Issue will be extended versions of outstanding works presented at PACIS 2026. Each submission will undergo a rigorous peer review process managed by the guest co-editors of the Special Issue, ensuring adherence to the highest scholarly standards. Through the publication of these substantially enhanced studies, this Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge IT/IS research emerging from the Pacific Asia region, stimulate innovative scholarship that addresses pressing managerial and behavioral IS issues pertinent to this region, and broaden the impact of PACIS within the international Information Systems research community.
